# Brightfield Games Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Brightfield Games website and any reservations, purchases, or other services offered through it. By using the website or completing a transaction, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
## 1. About Brightfield Games
Brightfield Games creates tabletop games, including Table Fable. References to "Brightfield Games," "we," "us," and "our" mean the operator of this website. Questions may be sent to **contact@brightfieldgames.com**.
## 2. Eligibility and Acceptable Use
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority where you live to make a reservation or purchase. You may not use the website to violate any law, infringe another person's rights, interfere with the website's operation or security, introduce malicious code, collect information about others without authorization, or submit false or misleading information.
We may restrict or terminate access to the website when reasonably necessary to protect Brightfield Games, our customers, or our service providers.
## 3. Table Fable $1 Reservations
A $1 Table Fable reservation provides access to the launch benefit described on the reservation page. It is:
- A one-time charge, not a subscription or recurring payment.
- Not a purchase or preorder of the game.
- Not an investment or ownership interest in Brightfield Games.
- Not a guarantee that Table Fable will be produced, offered at a particular time, or available in every location.
Purchasing the game during a future crowdfunding campaign or sale will require a separate transaction. The price, shipping charges, taxes, estimated delivery schedule, campaign terms, and risks applicable to that purchase will be disclosed at that time.
You may request a full refund of the $1 reservation by emailing **contact@brightfieldgames.com** before using the associated launch benefit. No physical return is required. If Brightfield Games cancels the launch or cannot provide the advertised reservation benefit, we will refund the reservation payment. Once the benefit has been used, the reservation payment is no longer separately refundable.
## 4. Purchases, Prices, and Availability
Prices and product descriptions may change before an order is placed. Products and offers may be limited by quantity, location, or availability. We may refuse or cancel a transaction because of suspected fraud, pricing or technical errors, legal restrictions, or unavailable inventory. If we cancel a completed transaction, we will refund the amount charged for the cancelled item or service.
You agree to provide accurate and current billing, contact, and order information. Applicable taxes and charges will be shown during checkout when reasonably calculable.
Product images and prototypes are illustrative. Final colors, artwork, packaging, components, and other details may differ reasonably from images shown during development or crowdfunding. Any material changes will be disclosed as appropriate.
## 5. Refunds and Returns
Refunds, cancellations, and any future physical-product returns are governed by the refund or return policy displayed on the website and by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
## 6. Crowdfunding and Third-Party Services
Our website may link to Kickstarter, payment processors, social-media platforms, or other third-party services. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. A pledge made through a crowdfunding platform is also subject to that platform's rules and the terms displayed on the applicable campaign page.
We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control.
## 7. Intellectual Property
The website and its original text, artwork, game designs, logos, product names, graphics, photographs, videos, and other content are owned by or licensed to Brightfield Games and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view the website for personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, modify, scrape, or commercially exploit our content without written permission, except as allowed by law.
If you voluntarily send comments, reviews, photographs, or other feedback, you retain ownership of your original material but grant Brightfield Games a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it for operating, improving, and promoting our business. This license does not apply to private customer-service communications. You represent that you have the right to submit the material.
## 8. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
## 9. Website Availability and Disclaimers
We try to keep website information accurate and the service available, but errors, interruptions, and delays may occur. To the extent permitted by law, the website and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties beyond those expressly stated by Brightfield Games or required by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded.
## 10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Brightfield Games will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of the website. Our total liability relating to a reservation or purchase will not exceed the amount you paid to Brightfield Games for the transaction giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
## 11. Changes
We may update the website, our offerings, or these Terms. Revised Terms become effective when posted with a new "Last updated" date. Changes will not retroactively reduce rights connected to a completed transaction unless permitted by law.
## 12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You may also have rights under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.
## 13. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These Terms, together with the policies and transaction-specific terms referenced here, constitute the agreement between you and Brightfield Games concerning the website and its services.
